Skardu — Northern Pakistan, a Mystic Trails luxury journey
Destination · Gilgit-Baltistan

Skardu

Gateway to the great peaks — desert dunes against snow and lakes like cut glass.

Overview

Where four eight-thousanders look down on a cold desert.

Skardu sits at the confluence of the Indus and Shigar rivers, surrounded by four of the world's fourteen 8,000 m peaks. Its landscapes are of surreal contrasts — glassy alpine lakes, cold sand dunes, and a broad valley floor that opens into the greatest mountain approaches on earth. It is the gateway to the Baltoro and K2 as much as a destination in its own right.
