Shigar — Northern Pakistan, a Mystic Trails luxury journey
Destination · Gilgit-Baltistan

Shigar

A restored fort, green fields, and the road that leads toward K2.

Overview

Where the Braldu River begins its journey toward the Baltoro — and K2.

Shigar is a small valley town at the confluence of the Shigar and Braldu rivers, an hour from Skardu. Its fort — restored to exceptional standard by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and now run as an intimate heritage hotel — is one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the north. Beyond the fort, the Braldu Valley leads, day by day, toward the Baltoro Glacier and K2.
